Overview:
As an EC&I Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for delivering day-to-day electrical, control, and instrumentation maintenance and breakdown support at an Energy from Waste facility. Working within a fast-paced environment, you will play a key role in ensuring maximum plant reliability, safety, flexibility, overall performance & promoting high standards of Health, Safety & Environmental compliance on site.
Key Responsibilities:
* Fault diagnosis, repair, and routine maintenance across a range of systems such as DCS/SCADA, PLCs, instrumentation & electrical equipment
* Supporting safe and efficient plant operations through timely repairs and technical assistance
* Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, P&IDs, and loop diagrams.
* Calibrating digital and analogue instrumentation using tools like Beamex and 4-20mA loop testers
* Developing, maintaining and recording all work using the site's computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)
* Supporting procurement and control of electrical and instrumentation spares and consumables
* Supervising contractors and contributing to the planning of outages and daily maintenance activities
Requirements:
* City & Guilds / ONC / NVQ Level 3 in an Electrical Engineering discipline (or equivalent). Lower-level qualifications may be accepted with sufficient experience
* Strong knowledge of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems including DCS, SCADA, PLCs, analogue and digital instrumentation, emissions monitoring, etc.
* Experience in power generation or a heavy process plant environment (desired)
* Experience in fault diagnosis, routine maintenance, and repair of electrical/control systems
* Ability to interpret and work from electrical drawings, P&IDs, and loop diagrams
* Competent in reading, writing, and following Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
* Familiar with instrumentation calibration routines and tools (e.g., 4-20mA, Beamex) - preferred
* Working knowledge of CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)
* Understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices – IOSH Managing Safely is desirable
