The Role:
Our client is hiring a Project Manager (Planning & Environmental) to support the delivery of planning applications and environmental assessments for a portfolio of renewable energy infrastructure projects. The role focuses on coordinating layout and infrastructure design inputs, Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR), Appropriate Assessments (AA), and associated baseline environmental studies through to planning consent.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support Senior Project Managers and Project Directors in delivering planning and environmental requirements for renewable energy projects through to consent decision and any subsequent challenges.
* Coordinate baseline environmental and constraints assessments, ensuring effective collaboration across internal teams and external consultants.
* Monitor changes in planning and environmental legislation, policy and development plans, and contribute to submissions where required.
* Support stakeholder engagement activities, including community consultation and liaison with statutory and non-statutory consultees.
* Prepare scopes and specifications for third-party environmental and planning services and support procurement processes.
* Comply with health, safety and welfare requirements and actively participate in performance management processes.
What we are looking for:
* Honours Degree (Level 8) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
* Postgraduate qualification (Level 9) in a relevant discipline (e.g. Environmental Science, Engineering, Planning Law) is desirable.
* 2–5 years' experience supporting planning applications and environmental assessments, including EIAR and AA.
* Experience contributing to or coordinating EIS/EIAR and AA/NIS documentation for large-scale development projects.
* Strong understanding of the EIA process and Irish planning and environmental legislation.
* Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
Desirable Experience:
* Exposure to renewable energy, energy infrastructure or Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID) projects.
* Technical specialism within an EIA-related discipline (e.g. ecology, noise, air quality).
* Experience managing multiple projects with varying risk profiles, timelines and priorities.
