You will be joining a forward-thinking Multi-Academy Trust dedicated to providing outstanding education across its schools. The Trust places a strong emphasis on innovation, collaboration, and the effective use of technology to enhance teaching, learning, and administration. As part of the central IT team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that staff and students benefit from reliable, secure, and modern IT systems.
The role will be based at a high school in Oldham 5 days a week onsite.
Your new role
As an IT Support Technician (2nd/3rd Line), you will:
1. Provide advanced technical support across the Trust, resolving escalated IT issues promptly.
2. Manage and maintain hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
3. Collaborate with the Head of IT Services and colleagues to deliver IT projects and upgrades.
4. Train and guide staff on IT systems and best practices.
5. Monitor backups, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity protocols.
6. Liaise with external IT service providers to ensure efficient delivery of services.
7. Support the development and enforcement of IT policies and procedures.
8. Ensurepliance with GDPR and safeguarding requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
9. Proven experience in IT support, ideally within education or a multi-site environment.
10. Strong technical knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, and networking (DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
11. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
12. Strongmunication skills with a customer-focused approach.
13. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
14. Enhanced DBS
15. A full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel between sites occasionally
16. Knowledge of school management systems (SIMS, Arbor).
