Our Accounting and Outsourcing team at Forvis Mazars is a dynamic and rapidly growing group of over 300 professionals. We support our clients to better run their finance functions, understand their financial position and performance, and to ensure they are compliant with changing accounting and tax legislation. With the relentless pace of technology change our teams advise clients in areas such as process and digitalisation, business performance and financial reporting, while building enduring relationships that positions Forvis Mazars as a trusted adviser. Our successful team is growing across all areas including cloud accounting, payroll, financial reporting and company secretarial.
About the role
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a proactive and ambitious part qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ICAS/CIMA) to join our expanding SME outsourcing and accounting department. The successful candidate will work predominantly within the outsourcing team, providing regular management information to clients. Our clients cover a variety of sizes and service needs. You will have the opportunity to build relationships with these clients and work closely with other teams to provide a high quality of services.
Role & Responsibilities
1. Working as part of the outsourcing and accounting team to deliver high quality services to clients, within set timescales.
2. Preparation of management information and VAT return work for a varied portfolio of clients.
3. Dealing with clients as required relating to the work and responding in a timely and accurate manner to client queries.
4. Build client relationships and ensure that they are aware of all available services.
5. Analyse financial data and perform accounting reconciliations.
6. Work closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality client service.
7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory changes.
8. Assistance with the statutory accounts and corporation tax return work, where necessary.
What we are looking for
9. Newly qualified or part qualified, in final stages of exams.
10. Experience in an outsourcing or business services environment for at least 3 years.
11. Proficient in cloud-based accounting software.
12. Advanced Excel skills.
13. Strong analytical skills and a commercial mindset.
14. Confident communicator with the ability to challenge constructively and influence stakeholders.
15. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-facing role with multiple deadlines with effective time management skills.
16. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
