We have an exciting opportunity for a Wayleaves Specialist to join us on a temporary contract for up to 12 months, (subject to review) based at Hinckley You will be responsible for the negotiation of specialist consents, wayleaves, easements and agreements in respect of the location of distribution assets, to settle significant damage claims. In addition, you will be required to identify training needs of your own and other team members and provide training as necessary in estates and survey related matters. As part of our hybrid working approach this role offers a mix of office and home working. Hybrid working can only be considered once your initial training is complete and subject to business need. *Please note the successful candidate may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete, this salary will be £47,197. Main Responsibilities Negotiate specialist consents, wayleaves, easements and agreements in respect of the location of distribution assets Review and settle damage claims Assist with scheme preparation in terms of site and route selection / acquisition as necessary Undertake project planning applications and be the point of contact with local authorities and other consultees/objectors Provide a wayleave service for maintenance and construction schemes. Deal with wayleave terminations Assessing the potential impact of a specific work activity on customers and advising customers affected of the impact of activities Resolving customer complaints directly wherever possible Investigating and reporting on estate related matters Exercise leadership Introduce new wayleaves, easements, consents and agreement techniques and methods Train appropriate staff on the aspects of wayleaves, easements, consents and agreements Keep abreast of estates related development Assess site risks, and take action to remove or avoid those risks Report any accident, injury, damage to property or near miss Identify opportunities for improvement in performance and implement or recommend change Carry out quality and compliance checks on contractors works. The Ideal Candidate You should also have proficient negotiation and influencing skills and you must be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers, landowners and Local Authorities. Ideally you would have an understanding of how overhead lines are constructed and underground cables are installed along with a general appreciation of the distribution network. You should be familiar with the operation of deeds and wayleaves, be aware of environmental legislation relating to statutory consents and have experience of geographic mapping and searching/updating computer records.
