We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Dietetic Assistant to join our Adult Nutrition and Dietetic Nutrition Support Team at Edgware Community Hospital.
You’ll play a key role in supporting our Home Enteral Feeding Team (HEFT) and Nutrition Support service, working alongside specialist dietitians to deliver high-quality care to adults who require tube feeding or specialist nutritional support.
This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys both hands‑on patient interaction and behind‑the‑scenes support, combining clinical, administrative, and community‑based work.
Responsibilities
* Support dietitians in providing nutritional care to patients receiving tube feeding or oral nutrition support.
* Manage your own delegated caseload of community patients, including booking and conducting weight monitoring visits and group sessions.
* Assist with patient assessments, record keeping, and accurate data entry on clinical systems.
* Liaise with patients, carers, and healthcare professionals, ensuring clear and compassionate communication.
* Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold data protection standards.
* Organise and prioritise your workload independently, seeking guidance where appropriate.
* Contribute to service improvement and development within the Nutrition and Dietetic team.
About You
* Caring, reliable, and genuinely passionate about supporting patient wellbeing.
* Has previous experience in nutrition support, or background knowledge or training in a nutrition related subject would be advantageous.
* Organised and confident working independently or as part of a team.
* Have good organisational and time management skills.
* A good communicator with empathy and sensitivity when dealing with patients.
* IT literate and comfortable using digital systems for data entry and communication.
* Have a keen eye for detail and accuracy
