JOB TITLE: Production ManagerREPORTING TO: Steve Wisbey, The Managing DirectorLOCATION: NIC Instruments Ltd, Folkestone, Kent CT19 5NFThe appointee will be based at NIC Instruments LtdOVERALL PURPOSE OF JOBNIC Instruments designs and manufacturers high risk search equipment and bomb disposal equipment including products such as robots. Based in Folkestone Kent, and established over 70 years, the company ships worldwide to some of the most inhospitable war-torn places in the world.We are now looking for a new Production Manager to lead the manufacturing staff and take our production systems to the next level.The right candidate will be a quick learner, a team player, and have a range of the following skills and qualifications:You must have the right to work in the UK and not require any form of VISA sponsorship. Applicants on a spouse dependant VISA will not be entertained for this role.Overall: Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook essentialExperience organising and planning in a manufacturing environment that includes complex electromechanical assembliesA strategic thinker, who looks forward in the planning process, with a constant strive to continuously improve the production systemsA desire to constantly learn and actively partake in their own Continuing Professional Development (CPD)Applicant must already have the right to work permanently in the UKExperience:Experience organising and planning in a manufacturing environment that includes complex electromechanical assembliesExperience with CNC machine toolsExperience in using and implementing production planning softwareManaging a team of 10-15 staffExperience in appraising staff and carrying out staff reviewsExperience with ISO9001Qualifications:At least an HND, preferably a degree, in a related engineering or manufacturing subjectFurther information:Salary is dependent on relevant experience and qualifications.
