Overview

Publisher Yield & Programmatic Lead Advertising role at Deliveroo. This role focuses on shaping Deliveroo Advertising's monetisation strategy with a hands-on approach to yield operations and optimisation. You will drive improvements in price realisation and revenue quality across on-platform and off-platform retail media, working with Commercial Strategy, Commercial Operations, Product, Data Science, and Media Operations. The role is primarily individual contributor with mentorship responsibilities for the Media Operations team and other specialists.


What You'll Be Doing

* Develop & Execute Yield Strategy & Pricing Governance: lead rate optimisation within yield operations, proposing floors, caps, discount guardrails, and sponsorship packages by placement and season within monetisation policy. Align with Commercial Strategy on rate envelopes and discount governance; create detailed internal build sheets for Media Operations. External pricing guidance is owned by Commercial Strategy.
* Propose, implement, and refine surface mix targets and seasonal rate guidance across sponsored search, category/home placements, menu, basket, and order tracker; align with Commercial Strategy and the Director to balance demand with supply while protecting the consumer experience.
* Own & Drive Yield Analytics & Forecasting: interpret key price realisation views, sell-through, fill curves, bid density, and revenue quality metrics; develop forward-looking views with Finance and Data Science on forecasting methodologies.
* Lead & Implement Programmatic Demand & Supply Path Management: develop deal strategies (Programmatic Guaranteed, Preferred Deals, and Private Marketplaces where applicable); manage line item architecture and demand routing with Product and ad server teams; maintain simple, reliable delivery and healthy margins; ensure supply chain transparency (ads.txt, app-ads.txt, sellers.json) in collaboration with Legal and Policy.
* Define & Enforce Inventory Policy & Strategic Enablement: define inventory taxonomy, eligibility rules, and sponsorship constraints to uphold consumer experience and brand safety; create build sheets and feasibility notes to enable accurate execution and minimize rework.
* Cross-functional Strategic Partnerships: collaborate with Product & Data Science to co-design eligibility, ranking, and pricing signals; validate hypotheses with experiments and communicate insights in plain language. Partner with Commercial Strategy on core rate strategy, discount governance, and packaging principles; share yield evidence and co-author quarterly guidance.
* Operating Cadence & Governance: lead weekly yield and rate clinics and monthly sponsorship/surface reviews; maintain decision records, identify owners and timelines, and escalate policy or guardrail issues to the Director as needed.


Qualifications / Requirements

* Extensive senior-level experience in yield and programmatic operations within a leading publisher, platform, or retail media network, with hands-on contribution.
* Deep expertise in auction dynamics, rate strategy, sponsorship design, and all programmatic deal types (Programmatic Guaranteed, Preferred Deals, Private Marketplaces).
* Direct experience with ad server configuration, complex deal setup, and robust revenue quality controls.
* Proven ability in yield analytics (price realisation, sell-through, fill, pacing, bid density) and the ability to derive actionable insights from data.
* Comprehensive understanding of identity, privacy, and consent requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and implications for packaging and routes to demand.
* Strong familiarity with supply chain transparency standards (ads.txt, app-ads.txt, sellers.json).
* Exceptional communication skills to articulate complex rules, create simple templates, and teach sophisticated ideas to diverse teams.
* Collaborative, consumer-first mindset with calm judgment and a drive to build, test, and iterate solutions end-to-end.
* Willingness to own initiatives from concept to execution.
