Electrical Design Engineer
NES Fircroft is partnering with a major Engineering and Services client to provide an Electrical Design Engineer for a major nuclear project. This is a long‑term project with potential for 3+ years of work. The role requires a minimum of 37 hours per week, Monday through Friday, over 4.5 days.
Hybrid working is available: 3 days per week in the Warrington office.
Overview
The successful candidate will work within the end client’s design team, delivering, supporting others in delivering and checking electrical design packages to meet safety, functional and business needs.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Academic qualification: Minimum HNC
* Professional qualification: Minimum – Incorporated Engineer
* Proven experience delivering as an Electrical Design Engineer on external multi‑discipline projects, from concept design through to handover.
* Solid knowledge of the engineering standards governing electrical supply infrastructure: small power, lighting and earthing.
* Experience generating small power cable calculations, by hand and with Trimble ProDesign (Amtech).
* Lighting calculations, by hand and with DIALux evo.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Support to construction.
* Support to commissioning.
* Willingness to support early‑career engineers.
Desirable
* Engineering standards governing electrical supply infrastructure: small power, lighting and earthing.
* Process instrumentation
* Radiometric and Special instruments
* Valid SC clearance would be beneficial; potential to be obtained upon offer of contract.
