Consultant Psychiatrist

We are the Defence Mental Health Services (DMHS) and we are looking for a professional Psychiatrist to join our team at RAF Brize Norton Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC). DPHC is an inclusive organisation working hard to provide excellent care to entitled personnel.
Position: Fixed‑Term appointment until April 2028, full time (40 hours per week). Part‑time hours may be available on a job share basis.

Main duties of the job
* Provide effective, recovery‑based care to Service Personnel and entitled civilians, with timely access to skilled assessment, treatment and occupational recommendations that meet individual needs.
* Manage a caseload of complex, unstable cases and provide short‑notice consultation and advice to team members.
* Maintain responsibility for patients throughout care, including referral to other regional services.
* Work collaboratively with patients, families and significant others where appropriate.
* Liaise with the in‑patient Consultant Psychiatrist and attend ward rounds as required.
* Communicate effectively with patients to understand their personal and sensitive difficulties.
Qualifications and Registrations
* Full GMC registration with licence to practice.
* Member or Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, or equivalent for certificate of completion of training (CCT).
* Certificate of Specialist Training or equivalent in General Adult or forensic Psychiatry.
* Registered with relevant professional body prior to commencing in post.

Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before appointment. A security check is required.

Salary
£109,725 to £145,478 per annum (pro‑rata for part time).
