Heavy Commercial Vehicle Technician
As a skilled technician, you will be responsible for inspecting and repairing heavy commercial vehicles to the highest standards.
Key duties include:
* Preparing vehicles for MOT inspections
* Performing reactive maintenance on all company fleet vehicles, including HGVs
* Replacing tyres, batteries and brakes
* Diagnosing and rectifying minor electrical and mechanical faults
* Completing vehicle checklists and maintaining comprehensive records of vehicle condition and trailer status
* Managing routine servicing and ensuring all repairs are controlled and rectified efficiently
* Providing standby and call-out cover as required
* Maintaining accurate paperwork and records
* Making technical decisions in the absence of others
* Ensuring workload is prioritized and deadlines met
* Complying with health and safety policies and guidelines
* Providing assistance for vehicle breakdowns
Required skills and qualifications:
* Qualified HGV mechanic with a recognised qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent)
* HGV Licence holder and CPC desirable
* IRTEC licence holder
* City and Guilds Level 3 HGV or equivalent desirable
