About the Ro le - To undertake the role, the post holder will deal with a range of building control and integrated planning and housing adaptation duties. Responsible for the day-to-day project management of multiple projects, ensuring, as far as practicable, compliance with building regulations and associated standards of construction projects and / or conversion project.
Attending meetings, training sessions and seminars, as required by the business
Taking responsibility for a portfolio of projects within a geographical area
Effective time management to optimise inspection visits to sites and in relation to plan checking requirements
Recording and maintaining accurate inspection records
Will be able to work with the minimum of supervision/remotely in line with established policies and procedures
Commercial awareness
Chartered or working towards full corporate membership of Chartered Institute of Building Engineers or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
Hold and maintain appropriate Technical Class 3 or 2F Registered Building Inspector (RBI) status
Conversant with relevant legislation, technical guidance and has knowledge of the impact of The Building Safety Act (2022)
Fire safety
A knowledge of the construction design process and RIBA Stages of work
Knowledge of customer care and the principles of equal opportunities in providing a Building Control function
A track record in ensuring compliance and enforcement with the Building Regulations. Working towards and gaining experience of different types of buildings and projects
Effective self-management of site inspections and reporting
Assessing safety and risk. Working Experience in a building control environment
Build and maintain client relationships across a mix of design and construction teams
Plan checking across a wide range of project types
Assessing safety and risk
UK driving licence.
