Description
Activities at The Carnegie Club
The Skibo estate covers 8,000 acres, stretching from the shore of the Dornoch Firth through links land, parkland, lochs and forest, to the heights of our expansive moor to the north.
This diverse environment provides the backdrop for our Activities team to lead members and guests of all ages in a wide variety of pursuits, from shotgun shooting and archery to canoeing, paddleboarding, hill walking and biking.
Last spring, our new Activities Hub – the Treehouse at Overskibo – launched, introducing an exciting range of new and bespoke experiences for our members.
About The Role
As a Shotgun & Adventure Instructor, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional clay pigeon shooting experiences while also supporting the wider Activities programme. Your primary responsibility will be leading safe, engaging and tailored clay pigeon shooting sessions for members and guests, ranging from first-time shooters to experienced shots.
Alongside shooting, you’ll be involved in delivering a variety of other outdoor activities. While experience in these areas is beneficial, full training can be provided – your shotgun instructor qualification is essential.
At Skibo, we pride ourselves on being seamlessly connected. You’ll collaborate closely with other departments across the Club to ensure every member enjoys a personalised and memorable experience.
You’ll adapt sessions to suit individuals of different ages, abilities and interests, creating positive, educational and confidence-building experiences aligned with the Club ethos.
Your responsibilities will also include:
* Assessing risks and producing relevant risk assessments
* Maintaining firearms, equipment and activity areas to the highest standards
* Ensuring all activities are delivered safely and in line with current legislation and best practice
