Glyder ward is in a 18 bedded Cardiology Ward. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior nurse who is passionate about delivering high quality, safe and compassionate care within a specialist cardiac environment.
Our Cardiology ward cares for patients with a range of acute and chronic cardiac conditions, including heart failure, arrhythmias, post angiography and complex medical patients.
The successful candidate will provide strong clinical and operational leadership, ensuring excellence in patient experience, safety and staff development. You will be responsible for day‑to‑day management of the ward, including staff leadership, workforce planning, quality improvement and maintaining high standards of patient safety and experience.
This role requires a visible and supportive leader who can inspire the team, promote a positive working environment and drive service improvements while maintaining high standards of care. The post holder is expected to provide a consistent leadership presence on the ward on site five days per week.
Main Duties
As the Ward Manager you will manage the ward, promote a positive patient and staff experience, and lead the delivery of excellent nursing care. Work with the Multi‑Disciplinary Team, Consultants, Heads of Nursing, Matrons and other Ward Managers. Oversee a vibrant team, supporting practice through a strong clinical presence, and strive to achieve local and national objectives.
* Continuous responsibility for the twenty‑four hour management of nursing on the ward.
* Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for all patients within designated areas.
* Accountable for the quality of care delivered within the clinical area by nursing.
* Work collaboratively and cooperatively with others to develop services provided for patients within the clinical area.
