You'll be designing BI solutions, building and enhancing data reports and, you'll also integrate new features and improvements to support the achievement of great business outcomes. In this specialist role you have a great opportunity for you to contribute to shaping the future of VWFS Data Architecture and Enterprise Data capabilities, including business reporting, data visualisation, Enterprise Data Governance, Master Data Management, and the implementation and growth of Data and Business Intelligence technologies.What you’ll bring:You’re an experienced Developer with strong programming skills and you’re willing to learn and adopt new technologies and, it's essential that you have used Oracle SQL and PL/SQL You’ll have a passion for data and you're skilled in all aspects of the Data development lifecycleEssential experience & skillsYou have an understanding of ETL/ELT processes with experience in industry-standard tools like SAP Data Services and InformaticaYou're able to translate functional requirements into effective technical solutions and have proven experience in fault resolution within SLA'sUtilised PL/SQL for writing stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggersCreated and maintained a complex universe supporting multiple hierarchies for drill-down and drill-across reportsCollaborated with a Database Administrator (DBA) to design aggregate tables and materialised views, improving query performance by reducing the result set size at the data provider levelDesigned and developed complex reports using SAP Business Objects, incorporating parameter/formula fields, selection formulas, and grouping/sub-reportsPerformance tuning and enhanced universes using SQL queriesDesigned and developed dashboards and have produced high-quality technical design documentationYou’re skilled in dimensional data modelling, including Star Schema modelling, fact and dimensional table design, as well as physical and logical data modellingYou have worked closely with business teams to resolve production issues and design and develop small changesExperience in Financial Services, Automotive Finance or retail consumer finance (B2C) as well as, working in an agile environment, would be a great advantageWhat you’ll be doing:You’ll work with the Enterprise Data and BI Product Owner, Scrum Master and the Data Product team to fulfil new BI requirementsAssist the Enterprise Data & BI Team in maintaining the existing BI reporting portfolioAnalyse new business requirements to inform solution designDesign new Business Intelligence solutions, and modify, enhance, or adapt existing BI systemsYou’ll provide third-level support services for investigating and resolving faults in BI systemsRegularly update stakeholders and our change agents on progress of unresolved production faults, ensuring consistent communication for visibility and information.Document faults and their resolutions to prevent re-investigation of recurring incidentsCreate Technical Specifications and assist the Data Analyst and Business Analyst in developing Functional Specifications.Develop, maintain, and adhere to coding standards and best practicesYou’ll support with planning, testing and implementation of updates and patches provided by vendors or executed by the teamYou will plan, prepare, and support execution of tests to verify that each unit or component behaves as expected when tested in isolationSupport Integration and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure high-quality delivery of changes.Investigate defects identified during Development, Integration, and User Acceptance Testing, providing fixes within agreed response timesFacilitate knowledge transfer to IT Service Delivery, IT Support, IT Development teams, and other stakeholders as neededProvide estimates for BI changes related to new requirements, production faults, routine maintenance, and minor changesYou’ll develop and maintain a good working relationship with stakeholders to ensure increased delivery for each department What’s in it for you?Bonus: Discretionary 10% on-target bonus (based on personal and Group company performance) Pension: Employer pension contribution of 9% (based on employee contribution of 3%).
