The successful candidate will join a collaborative and entrepreneurial team with a strong market reputation and a genuinely international practice. The role offers significant client exposure, early responsibility and a clear platform for progression.

The Team

The team is recognised as a prominent adviser within the private capital market, acting for fund sponsors, asset managers and institutional investors across a broad range of investment strategies.

The practice advises on the establishment, structuring and operation of private investment funds across multiple asset classes, including:

  • Private Equity
  • Venture Capital
  • Real Estate
  • ESG and Impact
  • Infrastructure
  • Private Credit
  • Other alternative investment strategies

The team acts for clients ranging from emerging managers launching first-time funds through to established international institutions and asset managers. In addition to sponsor-side mandates, the team regularly advises investors on fund investments, co-investments and strategic private capital transactions.

The Role

The team is continuing to expand and is keen to speak with experienced private funds lawyers looking to take the next step in their career.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on the structuring, formation and operation of private investment funds.
  • Drafting and negotiating core fund documentation, including LPAs, PPMs, subscription documents and side letters.
  • Managing fund formation transactions from launch through to final closing.
  • Advising fund sponsors on ongoing operational, governance and regulatory matters.
  • Supporting investor-side mandates and strategic private capital transactions.
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers.
  • Contributing to business development initiatives, market engagement and thought leadership.

Candidate Profile

Suitable candidates are likely to have:

  • At least 5 years' post-qualification experience gained within a recognised private funds practice.
  • Strong experience advising on private fund formation matters.
  • Excellent drafting and technical skills across core fund documentation.
  • Experience managing transactions and leading day-to-day client relationships.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to delivering advice.
  • A genuine interest in business development and practice growth.
  • The ability to operate effectively within a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

The Culture

The firm offers a genuinely collegiate environment where lawyers are encouraged to take ownership of their careers and contribute to the wider success of the practice.

Highlights include:

  • High-quality and sophisticated private funds work.
  • Strong partner access and mentorship.
  • Collaborative and supportive team culture.
  • Meaningful client exposure and responsibility.
  • Clear progression opportunities.
  • Significant investment in professional development, leadership training and career advancement.
  • Flexible and modern working practices.

This represents an excellent opportunity for a mid-senior private funds lawyer seeking a high-quality platform, strong career progression and the chance to play a meaningful role in the continued growth of a successful practice.
