Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated Specialist Tutor / Outreach Worker to support a high-ability Year 11 student based in the W10 area, within the catchment of a local teacher-training college. The role involves a blend of home tutoring, online sessions and limited in-school support. The student has severe anxiety and selective mutism, and requires a calm, warm, empathetic approach. The role is suited to someone experienced, patient, and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
Contract Details
* Location - Home-based, online, and limited in-school support across local area
* Position - Specialist Tutor / Outreach (Year 11)
* Type of work - 1:1 Core Subject Tuition (English, Maths, Science) & Outreach Support
* Contract or position start date - ASAP (Week 10 start acceptable)
* Duration / Likely Duration - Until the end of the academic year
* Contract type - Temporary
* Full time/part time - Part-time / variable hours depending on students needs
* Minimum rate of pay - Competitive, dependent on experience
* Hours - Flexible (combination of home visits, online sessions, and limited school hours)
Experience, Training and Qualifications
* Experience working with children and young people, particularly those with anxiety, selective mutism or school refusal.
* Strong subject knowledge in English, Maths and Science (KS4/GCSE).
* Calm, empathetic, relationship-based approach.
* Up-to-date safeguarding training issued in the last year.
Eligibility Requirements
* Hold Right to Work in the UK.
* Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
* Provide two professional child-related references that cover the last 2 years.
