The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of contentious probate matters, including disputes over wills, inheritance claims, and estate administration issues. This is a key role within the firm's private client department and would suit a solicitor or legal executive with a solid foundation in this area of law and a confident, empathetic approach to client service.

Key Responsibilities
* Advising on and managing cases involving contested wills, Inheritance Act claims, and executor/beneficiary disputes
* Handling matters from instruction to resolution, including litigation, mediation, and negotiation
* Drafting legal documents, witness statements, and court submissions
* Liaising with barristers, experts, and other legal professionals as required
* Delivering practical and sensitive legal advice in what are often emotionally charged situations
* Contributing to business development, marketing, and the broader growth of the department
* Maintaining excellent file management and compliance standards

Candidate Profile
* Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with a minimum of 3+PQE
* Strong technical knowledge of contentious probate law and procedures
* Confident managing a caseload with minimal supervision
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Empathetic and client-focused approach
* Commercial awareness and a proactive attitude
* ACTAPS or STEP membership (or working towards) is desirable
* A local client following or network would be an advantage, but is not essential
