We are looking for a vaccine nurse to join our antenatal clinic team. You will be part of a team of three, responsible for delivering the vaccination programme to the women and birthing people that access our service.

Main duties of the job
1. Carry out planned vaccinations for a group of patients without direct supervision
2. Ensure the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence based individualised patient care
3. Assist and advice staff, both registered and unregistered, in the delivery of patient care and vaccinations
4. Maintain accurate clinical records of the patient and plan vaccinations accordingly
5. Undertake procedures in line with national protocols
6. Have responsibility for the correct administration and custody of medicines according to Trust policy
7. Monitor patients’ progress, work towards safe and timely administration of vaccinations and ensure barriers are identified and acted on appropriately
8. Act as the patient’s advocate
9. Ensuring pregnant women/people and newborn babies with incomplete/unclear immunisation schedules are fully supported to receive appropriate vaccinations
10. Ability to demonstrate an awareness of public health concerns, i.e. Domestic violence, child abuse, etc. and make appropriate referrals
