The Fraud & Payment Team is a fast‑evolving unit leading fraud prevention in the retail train ticketing space. Our hybrid Edinburgh‑based team blends analytical precision with strategic initiative.
Role
As a Fraud Review Agent you will:
* Monitor transactional activity to identify high‑risk behaviour, monitor fraud detection algorithms, rule sets and transaction trends via built‑in reports.
* Investigate suspicious transactions and elevate complex cases.
* Analyse chargeback data to uncover fraud trends.
* Conduct open‑source intelligence gathering (surface and dark web).
* Collaborate with Fraud Analysts and Managers to report findings and propose proactive fraud strategies.
* Support fraud investigations for escalated cases and contribute to process improvement.
* Educate internal teams on fraud risks and mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
* Experience in a fraud investigation, customer service or similar role.
* Understanding of card‑not‑present fraud, account takeover and digital payment methods.
* Analytical mindset with attention to detail, spotting patterns and trends in large datasets.
* Ability to manage in high‑volume transaction environments.
* Strong written and oral communication and documentation skills.
* Enthusiastic, proactive, forward‑thinking and eager to learn.
* Independent yet collaborative work style with stakeholder management.
* Interest or knowledge of SQL, built‑in report tools (e.g., Tableau) and Machine Learning models.
* Adaptable to change and open to evolving responsibilities.
