Apprenticeship Overview
This is a 3‑year apprenticeship to support an individual in developing the skills and gaining the qualification to become a qualified Healthcare Scientist / Cardiac Physiologist. The individual will be supported to attend Manchester Metropolitan University for a fully funded BSc in Healthcare Science.
The apprenticeship is initially a fixed‑term contract for the duration of the programme. Upon successful completion of the qualification, the role becomes permanent.
Eligibility Criteria
* Have lived in the UK or the EEA for the last three years continuously.
* If working on a visa, the remaining duration must cover the duration of the apprenticeship.
Responsibilities
* Develop the skills to independently analyse, interpret and report a wide range of specialist tertiary cardiac procedures.
* Support advanced specialist procedures as a 2nd operator under the supervision of a Specialist, Advanced or Expert practitioner.
* Actively participate in practical and theoretical training and development within the field of Cardiac Physiology.
* Complete a BSc in Healthcare Cardiac Science and become an independent practitioner.
Salary Payable
* (i) up to 12 months prior to completion of training – 75% of the top of the band
* (ii) more than one but less than two years prior to completion of training – 70% of the top of the band
* (iii) more than two but less than three years prior to completion of training – 65% of the top of the band
* (iv) more than three years from completion of training – 60% of the top of the band
Starting pay for any trainee or apprentice must be no less than the rate of the main adult rate of the National Minimum Wage.
