Location: Stoke Town Hall, Stoke-on-Trent
Directorate: Resources • Section: Coroners Service • Grade: Level 7 (Subject to review) • Salary: £20,960.81 - £22,769.59 • Hours: 25 hours per week

An exciting and rare opportunity to provide high level professional, pro-active and confidential Paralegal support to the Senior Coroner and Coroners Team within the Coroners Service.
Responsibilities
 * Provide a full-bespoke professional service to the Senior Coroner and Coroners Team, ensuring efficient and effective support, proactively anticipating needs and acting with initiative.
 * Work with a high level of independence and autonomy, resolve and respond to incoming communications, and seek advice where necessary.
 * Be the principal point of contact for the Senior Coroner and proactively manage the flow of work through the office, resolving queries through initiative or redirection as appropriate.
 * Screen all incoming calls, visits and communications; draft, co-ordinate and proof-read replies to correspondence with due regard to confidentiality, Data Protection and Customer Care policies.
 * Proactively manage the Senior Coroner’s diary, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and arrange internal and external meetings.
 * Undertake legal research on behalf of the Senior Coroner and Area Coroners.
Requirements and Qualifications
 * Experience as a Paralegal with a proactive, team-oriented approach and a “can do” attitude.
 * Confident communicator with excellent organisational skills and the ability to use initiative to resolve problems.
