East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking a Personal Adviser to join the Ready to Work (RTW) team within Learning Skills and Workforce Development (LSWD).
This is an opportunity to play a key role in supporting residents of the East Riding to overcome barriers and progress into employment, training or further learning.
The role
The postholder will provide high‑quality advice, guidance and support to participants on both a one‑to‑one and group basis. You will assess individual needs, agree and review action plans, and support participants to achieve realistic and positive outcomes.
Working as part of a supportive multi‑disciplinary team, you will liaise with employers, training providers and partner agencies to ensure participants receive coordinated, person‑centred support. You will also contribute to meeting programme targets and maintaining accurate records in line with funding and quality requirements.
Key responsibilities
* Provide careers advice, guidance and ongoing support to programme participants
* Assess learning, employment and support needs and develop tailored action plans
* Support individuals facing barriers to progression, including health conditions, disabilities and long‑term unemployment
* Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, employers and partner agenciesComplete required documentation, reports and outcome evidence in line with service standards
* Keep up to date with local labour market information, training opportunities and funding initiatives
* Contribute positively to team working and continuous service improvement
About you
You will have experience of supporting individuals to achieve positive progression outcomes and be confident managing a caseload. You will be organised, resilient and able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
