About the role
As our Deputy Manager (Clinical), you will play a key role in supporting the Home Manager to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care in line with regulatory standards and best practice. You will provide clinical leadership to the care and nursing teams, ensuring residents receive person-centred care that promotes dignity, choice, and wellbeing. You will take responsibility for the clinical governance and running of the service in the absence of the Home Manager, ensuring care delivery meets CQC requirements and aligns with company policies and procedures. Your role will include mentoring and supervising nurses and care staff, conducting clinical audits, reviewing and updating care plans, overseeing medication management, and ensuring accurate documentation and record keeping. You will also support pre-admission assessments, risk assessments, and ongoing evaluations of residents’ needs, maintaining liaison with healthcare professionals, residents’ families, and external agencies to ensure continuity and quality of care.

Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership and ensure safe, person-centred nursing care in line with regulatory standards.
* Support the Home Manager in clinical governance and running of the home in their absence.
* Mentor and supervise nursing and care staff; conduct clinical audits; review and update care plans; oversee medication management; maintain accurate documentation.
* Conduct pre-admission and risk assessments; liaise with healthcare professionals, residents’ families, and external agencies to ensure continuity and quality of care.
Qualifications
* NMC registered nurse with relevant experience – essential.
* Good working knowledge of CQC standards.
* Experience in a Deputy Home Manager or similar leadership role preferred.
* Ability to engage with service users and involve families in developing and evaluating care plans.
* Strong ability to build relationships with external professionals, families, visitors, and staff.
