The Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers and the SENCo to provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs. Your responsibilities may include one-to-one or small group support, assisting pupils within lessons, and helping them develop independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours.
You will observe, monitor, and record pupil progress, provide feedback to teachers, and help implement interventions to support each child’s learning and wellbeing. Close collaboration with colleagues, parents, and external professionals is essential to ensure pupils receive the best possible support.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
* Assist in delivering personalised learning plans and EHCP targets
* Support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally
* Promote positive behaviour, confidence, and independence
* Help pupils access lessons and remain engaged
* Observe, monitor, and record pupil progress accurately
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and support staff
* Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals when required
* Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
* Participate in staff meetings, training, and CPD sessions
* Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
