We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Commercial Vehicle Technician to join our Workshop team based in Hammonds Drive, Eastbourne. Brewers Truck Centre is part of the DAF trucks dealership network, offering its services to various commercial vehicle operators within the Eastbourne Area.
This role plays a vital part in efficiently and effectively carrying out repairs, preventative maintenance, servicing, and mechanical work on a variety of vehicles at the Brewers DAF/Transport workshops. You will also assist the Workshop Manager with daily operations and provide cover in their absence.

As the Lead Commercial Vehicle Technician, your responsibilities will include:
* Perform routine servicing, inspections, and mechanical repairs to manufacturers' and IRTEC standards
* Deliver and collect vehicles and materials as required
* Keep accurate records and provide clear reports on vehicle conditions and repair estimates
* Carry out quality checks on completed work to maintain high service standards
* Stay updated with new technologies and procedures in vehicle repair
* Secure stock and premises, acting as a key holder when needed
* Work with management to optimize workshop efficiency and productivity
* Maintain workshop equipment and resources
* Prepare and present vehicles for Ministry annual testing
* Act as a keyholder for alarm activations
* Participate in the DAF Aid/Lates rota, including occasional weekend standby and evening shifts up to 21:00
Ideal candidate profile:
* Strong leadership skills to guide and support a team
* Excellent problem-solving and mechanical troubleshooting skills
* Knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and emerging technologies
* Attention to detail with good organizational skills
* Proactive and adaptable, open to business improvements
* Team-oriented with the ability to work independently
* Previous experience with commercial vehicles is essential
