As a Lead Engineer you will be responsible for the design and development of components on a given platform from concept into production, with platform & project engineer responsibilities. Achieving targets for component/system cost, weight, NVH, dynamics, safety, and function into the program team, as well as making the design and tooling releases to suppliers.

WHAT TO EXPECT

In this role, no two tasks are the same. With lots of projects and relationships to build with people across the business and beyond, it’s a challenge that will help your career grow within an iconic organisation. Here’s what to expect:

* Design and Engineering of BIW components from concept to Production in CATIA
* Working across steel and aluminium componentry
* Derivation of Engineering Specifications, DFMEA, Delivery Timing Plan and Design Verification Plans (DVP)
* Providing technical and engineering support for Design Engineers & Lead Engineers
* Supplier management, discussions and communications
* Resolution of engineering issues throughout process (AIMS)
* Design of components that adhere to departmental standards

* A passion for the automotive industry and the potential of automotive technology
* Strong project management capabilities with the ability to multitask
* Comfortable challenging cross-functionally and at a variety of levels within the business
* Resilient and enthusiastic, an individual able to deliver results under pressure, whilst responding constructively to new ideas and inputs
* A dynamic and determined individual, highly driven, committed and results-orientated with significant pace, energy and confidence. Able to combine a short term, pragmatic focus with strategic vision
* Able to deliver quality and consistency in a complex, highly demanding environment with a range of expectations on what customer-focussed solutions might look like
* Agile working and associated systems and processes
