The role of Accounts Assistant offers the opportunity to play a key part in supporting the Accounts Department, with a strong emphasis on legal accounts administration and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for helping to ensure the accurate and compliant handling of client and office monies in line with internal procedures.
Working within an experienced accounts team, you will assist with a range of finance and administrative tasks that are essential to the smooth operation of the firm. This is a varied and detail-driven role, ideally suited to someone with strong numeracy skills, a proactive and organised approach, and a high standard of accuracy and confidentiality. You will be involved in:
* Supporting the day-to-day operation of the Accounts Department and assisting with legal accounts compliance
* Posting client account transactions accurately and checking bills and completion statements
* Processing daily bankings, cheques, and payments using online banking systems
* Handling client and internal enquiries relating to accounts and payments
* Assisting with client and office account reconciliations
* Maintaining accurate, auditable financial records and filing in line with regulatory requirements
* Supporting end-of-day routines, reporting, and ad hoc accounts duties
* Strong numeracy skills with excellent attention to detail
* Previous administrative or accounts experience
* Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office
* Ability to manage confidential information professionally
* Organised, reliable, and able to manage deadlines
* Experience in a legal or professional services environment
