Responsibilities
* Responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, preventative maintenance and repairs of electrical components across the group estates.
* Travels to cover all sites across the estate, including Oldham, Sheffield and Cornwall.
* Balance of building services and construction tasks with an approximate 70/30 split.
* Works with the full engineering team and liaises with other specialisms where necessary.
* Troubleshoots, evaluates and recommends equipment/service upgrades when required.
* Orders parts and supplies, maintains stock and inventory control.
* Performs all assigned work to ensure tenant safety and continuous operation of the site.
* Maintains the BSSL reputation for high standards of work and professionalism.
* Completes maintenance repairs and installation of electrical systems on a full range of commercial and residential properties.
* Completes repairs and maintenance on electrical systems, including fire alarms and call systems.
* Installs new and refurbished electrical systems using a full range of installation materials and techniques.
* Conducts routine checking and testing of all electrical systems, including fault detection.
* Adheres to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertakes relevant training and development activities, and responds positively to new and alternative systems.
* Welcomes new starters, provides peer support, and cascades learning where appropriate, including toolbox talks.
* Shares knowledge on company‑wide updates and initiatives.
* Performs other duties within capabilities as assigned.
Qualifications
* Substantial, relevant experience in a commercial environment.
* NVQ/ C&G in Electrical Installation.
* 2391 Test and Inspect.
* 18th Edition certification.
* Valid UK Driving License.
* CSCS Skill Card.
* Well‑versed in completing paperwork, including PPM paperwork, inspection sheets, RAMS etc.
* Ability to work in accordance with health and safety requirements as a routine matter.
* Good working knowledge of the building services environment and other disciplines is a distinct advantage.
* Attention to detail.
* Ability to demonstrate journey and workload planning.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience of managing others desirable but not essential.
