Your Role and Responsibilities
As our Drainage and Water Design Team Leader, you will:
* Lead a talented Transportation Drainage & Water team, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery of work packages.
* Implement process improvements and encourage technical innovation in highway drainage and flood risk management.
* Act as the technical lead for assigned work packages, ensuring compliance with DMRB, LLFA, and local authority standards.
* Plan, price, and deliver work packages under Option C/E design contracts while managing risks effectively.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with Local Authorities, LLFAs, National Highways, and utilities to ensure seamless communication and delivery.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you have:
* Proven experience in leading and developing design teams (7–14 members), with a strong ability to manage programmes, budgets, and risks.
* Experience in managing clients and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and positive outcomes.
* A track record of delivering high-quality, compliant highway drainage and flood risk solutions.
* Practical knowledge of DMRB, LLFA requirements, and local authority standards.
* Familiarity with SUDS, Planning Policy, Building Regulations, and flood risk strategy approvals.
* A full driving license and a willingness to travel as needed.
