We are seeking an enthusiastic person to join our professional and dedicated team of advisers. Our services are critical to the development of social enterprises, SMEs, entrepreneurs, and community groups throughout the Highlands and Islands. You will ideally have experience of the third sector and skills in at least some of the areas for which we provide support to our clients, e.g. strategic planning, financial forecasting, charitable trading, stakeholder consultation, governance, feasibility studies, facilitation, workshop delivery.
Main Purpose:
To provide competent, informed and relevant business advice to social enterprises and other third-sector organisations.
Main Tasks:
* Deliver business advice and support services as an adviser for the Just Enterprise contract. This is often done jointly with a colleague.
* Contribute to the development and delivery of workshops for the Just Enterprise contract and other clients.
* Contribute to the delivery of other contract work, e.g. community consultation, options appraisals, feasibility studies and business plans.
* Provide 1-2-1 business advice to third sector and community organisations, often remotely but sometimes in person, involving travel.
* Represent the company at events on an occasional basis to promote the Just Enterprise contract and the other services we deliver.
* Maintain a thorough understanding of the social enterprise eco-system and the political, legal and economic policies which will impact on our clients trading environment.
* Contribute to the running of the co-working space in Castle Street when needed.

Person Specification
* Commercial experience, ideally in the social enterprise sector
* A strong understanding of how community and social enterprises operate
* Good understanding of business planning and business processes
* Effective and organised when working independently and as part of a team
* Strong numerical skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication
* IT competent, especially using Excel spreadsheets
* Educated to higher or further education level (business degree not essential)
* Full UK drivers licence
Starting salary: £35,000 per annum
Pension: Membership of The Peoples Pension, with an employer contribution of 8%.
Annual leave: 35 days holiday entitlement
Hours: This is a full-time post, but part-time / flexible working can be considered
Duration: Permanent, subject to an initial 6-month probationary period.
Location: Impact Hub Inverness, Castle Street, Inverness, with travel to meetings across the Highlands and Islands and occasional trips to the Central Belt.
