 
        
        Dakota Hotel based in Motherwell are looking
for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our Finance Team in the
role of Finance Assistant. We seek a candidate with accounting or
finance experience and strong administrative skills.
CONTRACT AND PAY RATE 
 * The role carries a permanent contract
 * Typical hours 18-20 hours per week
 * Working 3 or 4 days per week
 * Pay rate is £13.50 per hour, paid weekly
We offer flexibility around start and
finish times, with typical hours falling between 09:00 and 14:00, but we’re
happy to adjust within a 09:00–10:00 start window and a flexible finish time to
suit your schedule. While
Monday is a required working day, we’re open to discussing which other days
work best for you.
This
is an on-site role based primarily at our Dakota Eurocentral property in
Motherwell, with occasional travel to our Glasgow city centre location. Please
note that remote or hybrid working is not available for this position.
PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES 
We’re
looking for a Finance Assistant to support the daily finance operations of our
hotel. You’ll work closely with the Finance Manager across a range of tasks,
main responsibilities will include:
 * Promptly feedback to line manager any challenges or
 issues encountered within the property in relation to finance matters, ensuring
 all deadlines are met consistently and escalating when they are not. 
 * Assisting with occasional training for team members
 on basic finance procedures.
 * Checking the daily sales summary, ensuring it has
 been compiled correctly by the night auditor.
 * Maintain the reconciliation of the cashbook/bank,
 ensuring this is kept up to date as per incoming and outgoing bank
 transactions.
 * Carrying out daily and monthly reconciliation tasks
 including cash and card banking, PCI payments, petty cash, and company credit
 cards.
 * Looking after the hotel’s cash floats, including change
 ordering via our external cash collection company.
 * Maintaining the working spreadsheet for the sale,
 posting and receipts of SK Chase vouchers within the PMS/accounting software.
 * Compile reports for the weekly finance snapshot,
 including food and beverage cost reports to ensure the food and beverage teams
 are aware of their projected cost of sale.
 * Liaise with the reservations team to compile the
 weekly credit control report, chasing open balances and aged debtors.
 * Maintain control over the hotel’s procurement
 system, liaising with the accounts payable team and assisting HODs with purchase
 orders, escalating any issues if they arise. 
 * To fully understand the confidential and sensitive
 nature of the figures and information which is being processed, ensuring no
 information is divulged to any persons out with the Accounts and Senior
 Management team
 * Any ad hoc duties as required.

location, Parklands Ave, Motherwell ML1 4WQ, is just off the M8 motorway in
Maxim Business Park at the Eurocentral Junction, we are a 92-bedroom boutique
hotel which boasts a destination Bar & Grill restaurant as well as a newly
built wedding events space.
Our location is easily accessible by car and we
offer complimentary parking for both employees and guests. Additionally, there
are frequent buses using the CityLink 900 route, only 20 minutes from Buchanan
St Bus Station directly to our hotel. 
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS 
The successful applicant will have/be: 
 * At least one years experience in an accounting or finance role.
 * Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
 * Previous experience using Sage accounting software is preferred.
 * Hotel experience is beneficial.
 * Be able to work at pace with meticulous attention to detail.
 * Meet deadlines and effectively prioritise workload.
 * An
