Job Title: IDT Programme Planner
Location: HM Naval Base, Portsmouth (HMNBP)
Service Area: Infrastructure Programme
Hours of Work: 37 Per week
Salary: £50,000 – 55,000
What You’ll be doing:
As the IDT Programme Planner, you will work within the infrastructure PMO and be responsible for developing, maintaining and reporting on the infrastructure programme schedule for one of our three major programmes, supporting the coordination of preconstruction and delivery activities and ensuring that plans are aligned with the Portsmouth Naval Base (PNB) strategic outcomes and operations.
This opportunity will involve working directly with the Integrated Delivery Teams, Design Management, Project Execution and the Support Functions across the KBS Maritime business - to ensure the successful coordination of projects across the key programmes to achieve the required outcomes.
You’ll provide regular reporting including progress updates, analysis, “what if scenarios”, forecasted end dates and recommended recovery plans, if required. You will be someone who actively contributes to continuous improvement of the functional quality and the performance of the planning output.
You’ll Have:
You will have experience of planning large scale multiyear programmes, along with sound knowledge of the project lifecycle - including all engineering, procurement, preconstruction and construction aspects of delivering major projects.
Excellent knowledge of MS Project or equivalent planning tools is essential, along with Microsoft Excel, and standard scheduling techniques.
You’ll have proven experience and be comfortable with working cross functionally and directly with the customer.
About you:
You’ll ideally have a recognised qualification in project/programme planning or be able to demonstrate the relevant experience. Being a certified Practitioner in a recognized PM methodology, APM, Prince 2 or P30 would be beneficial, but not essential.
You will be a logical thinker and work in an ordered fashion and be someone who actively contributes to continuous improvement of the functional quality and the performance of the planning output.
