This vital role supports the delivery and development of Dance, Drama, Music, and Film across the school. We seek an experienced technician to help maintain high creative and professional standards, contributing to a safe and inspiring learning environment for all students and staff. Core Responsibilities & Technical Scope Purpose of Role: To support the setup, operation, and maintenance of technical equipment and performance spaces for curriculum and extra-curricular activities. Working Hours: 25 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Key Duties: Provide lighting and sound design, set up and operate equipment for academic assessments and theatrical performances, and film/edit student work for moderation. Mentorship: Enthusing, instructing, and mentoring a student-led technical team for school events and productions. Maintenance: Performing repairs, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and supervising the safe get-in, fit-up, and get-out processes. Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with A&H SQ 7 console, ZerOS for lighting, DMX, and Qlab is essential. Essential Requirements & Benefits Candidate Profile: Proven experience in a theatre or performance environment with strong practical skills in lighting, sound, and staging. Must uphold high standards of Health and Safety. Line Management: Reports to the Head of Department (Notice period: 3 months). Compensation: Competitive salary band of £25,989 to £27,254 (FTE) plus a £1,045 fringe allowance. Actual Salary (Pro-Rata): £15,693.24 to £16,427.57 pa inclusive of Fringe Allowance.
