We now employ over 100 employees in our 87,000 square foot facility, ensuring we have the resources to deliver exceptional results on every project Due to continued growth we are seeking a highly motivated Programming Manager Role Profile: To lead and develop the Programming team, ensuring that all programmed job data and information are accurate, complete within estimated time frame, delivered to Production on time & meet customer specifications. The Programming Manager ensures the team is focused on the right priorities, delivering cost effective programming solutions, whether 2D or 3D while maintaining quality, efficiency, and collaboration across departments. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management Manage a team of CAD/CAM programmers, providing clear direction, guidance, and performance management. Ensure the team meets customer specifications and programmed jobs are completed within the estimated timeframes. Mentor and develop team members to improve skills, efficiency, and technical capability. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Operational Delivery & Accuracy Oversee the programming of drawings using the most cost effective methods, choosing between 2D or 3D approaches depending on job requirements and production efficiency. Observe and spot check programming job to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with design intent. Ensure programming output supports first time right manufacturing and reduces rework or production delays. Work closely with Production Managers and shop floor teams to clarify technical queries and resolve drawing discrepancies. Performance Management & Continuous Improvement Monitor programming accuracy and productivity through KPIs, implementing remedial actions and training to address gaps. Continuously evaluate programming methods and workflows to minimise waste, reduce NCRs, and improve efficiency. Promote standardisation and best practices for programming, CAD/CAM processes, and documentation. Systems & Process Development Collaborate with Project Management, Production Control, and IT to implement and optimise ERP/MRP systems for programming and scheduling integration. Own and improve internal processes to enhance programming efficiency, accuracy, and data flow. Cross Functional Collaboration Serve as the primary link between Programming, Production, Operations and Quality teams to ensure technical information is accurate and actionable. Encourage closer interaction between programmers and the shop floor to improve understanding, communication, and workflow. This position is required to be 100% site based. Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes Experience managing a team of CAD/CAM programmers in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of CNC machining, CAD/CAM systems, and programming methods (2D and 3D). Proven ability to meet customer specifications while balancing cost, efficiency, and quality. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience with ERP/MRP systems and continuous improvement initiatives is advantageous.
