Applications are invited for a fixed term position of a clinical fellow with a specialist interest in Medical Retina to join our renowned eye department. This post involves working to support the busy Medical Retina service including outpatients, injection & laser clinics.
The Medical Retina Team
The Medical Retina team consists of three consultants, two specialty doctors, numerous specialist trainee doctors, two nurse specialists, staff nurses, orthoptists, technicians and two ophthalmic imagers.
Facilities
The ophthalmology department is well equipped with PDT, retinal, YAG. SLT lasers, 4 OCT's (Spectralis & Topcon), a digital fluorescein angiography system, a dedicated injection suite and eye theatres.
Clinical Exposure
The new fellow will benefit from being exposed to a wide range of different Medical Retinal pathology including genetic disorders, CSCR and PDT treatment, hydroxychloroquine screening, sickle cell retinopathy, vein occlusions in addition to the more routine AMD and Diabetic Retinopathy.
Work Pattern
As an organisation we are committed to developing our services in ways that best suit the needs of our patients. This means that some staff groups will increasingly be asked to work a more flexible shift pattern so that we can offer services in the evenings or at weekends. This post also may include a 1:10 on call commitment.
