An accurate, confidential and supportive administration service for patients, clinical teams, carers and internal and external agencies (e.g. Local Authority, Third Sector, CAIS) to provide a safe and efficient patient pathway and to give information and appropriate support to families and carers.
Main Duties of the Job
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced secretary for the Acute Paediatrics Department. This is a part‑time, permanent post covering a range of administrative tasks to maintain a prompt and accurate secretarial service.
* You must have the ability to produce efficient and accurate typing and therefore have previous secretarial experience.
* You will have excellent keyboard and audio‑typing skills and be proficient in Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
* The ability to prioritise your work and be highly organised is paramount, as is excellent interpersonal communication skill, including a friendly telephone manner, while maintaining a professional, sensitive manner and confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications
* Essential: RSA level 2 or equivalent demonstrable experience
* NVQ Business Administration L3 or equivalent experience
* IT related qualification CLAIT plus /ECDL or equivalent
* Desirable: AMSPAR – City & Guilds L3
* NVQ Customer Service L3
Skills
* Essential: Knowledge of a range of administrative processes
* Experience of working in a busy office environment
* Proficient communication professionally and effectively with all levels of staff both verbally and in writing
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
* Experienced in planning, organising and prioritising own workload
