Job Summary
Georgia-Pacific is now hiring a Logistics Leader at our Darlington, SC Facility. The ideal candidate will utilize leadership, logistics experience, and communication to identify and convert change‑improvement opportunities related to people, process, and systems. Safety will be the primary value and the objective will be to exceed shipping expectations for operations, vendors, and customers. The Logistics and Warehouse Leader must also possess strong interpersonal communication and technical skills and be capable of leading transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Lead, recruit, and develop a team of material‑flow employees and shift leaders to maintain a safe and fulfilling work environment.
* Execute key business strategies by managing both automated and manual material movements to enhance operational flow.
* Develop team members into Principled Entrepreneurs through an effective organizational structure, including roles, responsibilities, and expectations aligned with the company vision.
* Maintain accurate inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, impacting production and deployment planning.
* Optimize production planning to align with facility goals and support corporate planning groups.
* Eliminate waste and improve inefficiencies in internal and external procedures, championing innovative ideas from all organizational levels.
* Foster positive relationships with contractors, material handlers, internal/external customers, and corporate partners.
* Utilize key metrics to identify trends and proactively address potential issues.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, systems engineering, supply chain management, or a related field.
* Previous experience with reporting tools via SAP, Tableau, or PowerBI.
* Solid understanding of logistics and supply‑chain management.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external partners.
* Experience working directly with Regional & Local Distribution Centers.
* Experience leading hourly and salary teams.
Additional Qualifications
* Proven experience in managing logistics processes and relationships.
* Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Familiarity with warehouse management and automation systems.
* Experience with DOT regulations for intermodal and dry‑van operations.
