The Role
Thanks to our innovative products and great team we are proud that the business is continuing to grow, we now have an opportunity for a Laboratory Technologist to join our Narrow Web Tag & Label Technology team based in Rochdale.
Working as part of a laboratory-based team, the successful candidate will be an integral part of a development team working on a variety of technical issues relating to energy-curable liquid inks and intermediates. Additionally, they will gain practical laboratory experience combined with opportunities to problem solve across a variety of real-world issues.
Key responsibilities:
Product Development - Development of new products as well as maintenance of profitable new products to meet business requirements to agreed deadlines and timescales
Working closely with other technical staff on the formulation and research of new and existing products
Application of own scientific knowledge in problem-solving situations
Provide updates of project progress, including regular communication with team leader
Technical Support - Provides technical advice, guidance & support maintaining laboratory processes, equipment, and resolution of customer issues
Product Compliance Meets required Production, Quality, EHS & Regulatory policies when maintaining existing products and providing new solutions
Safety Commitment - Ensuring the safety of self and others
Qualifications / Experience Critical for the Job Holder
Minimum of five GCSEs, grades 9-5 or equivalent, with experience working in a laboratory environment
Proficient in use of common productivity software applications
Practical working knowledge in a relevant formulating laboratory environment, preferably energy curable inks or coatings
Competent in the use of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
Strong team player
Able to take ownership and responsibility of their work and think for themselves while being receptive to feedback to continuously improve the quality of the development
Hold a strong can-do attitude
