The Manchester College is seeking a dedicated Careers and Welfare Site Leader to champion student success and wellbeing. In this vital role, you’ll lead on delivering high-quality careers advice, personal development, and welfare support across the campus. We're looking for someone with strong leadership skills, a passion for student progression, and a commitment to inclusive support services. You’ll work closely with staff and external partners to ensure every learner is equipped for life beyond college. We have an exciting opportunity at our City Campus Manchester to join our Student Experience and Support Department as a Careers and Welfare Site Leader on a permanent, full-time (35 hours per week) basis.

Home to our Centre of Excellence for Creative and Digital Industries, it provides an inspiring setting for both staff and learners, with specialist studios, workshops, and collaborative spaces. Who are TMC?

The Manchester College is the Largest Further Education College in the United Kingdom and has the largest provisions for 16-19yrs olds, adults, and higher education in Greater Manchester. We are part of the LTE group that consist of MOL, Total People, UCEN Manchester, Novus, and LTE Group Operations. We currently support more than 25% of Greater Manchester’s learning provision and are currently rated “Good” by Ofsted. The purpose of this role is to co-ordinate the delivery of the Careers & Welfare service on sites in liaison with the Manager and other Site Leaders. The aim is to ensure an informed and effective CEIAG (Careers, Education, Information, Advice and Guidance) service is delivered to individuals and groups of clients, to support enrolment, progression, retention, and achievement of learners within TMC, and to work with key stakeholders to maximise learners’ positive destinations.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

7. Level 6 Career qualification or relevant industrial experience or professional qualification.
8. Numeracy and Literacy skills (to level 2 or equivalent).
9. Considerable knowledge and experience of working in the Career and Guidance industry.
10. Research skills and the ability to create materials/resources for delivery to clients.
11. Good IT skills using a range of software packages.
12. Ability to manage own workflow and effective time-management skills.
13. Ability to work effectively in cross-college teams and establish positive relationships.
14. Ability to train and develop others within the team.

All applicants will be required to undergo an appropriate DBS check via the Criminal Records Bureau and may be subject to additional online checks as part of our pre-screening process.
