An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Staff Nurse to join our team within the Acute Medicine Unit at Raigmore Hospital. The Acute Medicine Unit covers an Acute Assessment Unit, Ambulatory Emergency Care and Medical High Dependency Unit. The Acute Assessment Unit (Ward GA) admits acutely unwell patients direct from the community & Emergency Department. This is a fast paced and interesting environment to work within. On a daily basis you will be responsible for ensuring that you lead your team promoting & providing a high quality care and developing a positive ward culture. You will encouraging best practice to deliver a high quality of patient care at all times, supervising qualified & unqualified staff members. Successful candidate will demonstrate excellent leadership, confident communication and effective organizational skills.
Evidence of personal development will be expected with a willingness to contribute to education and quality improvement. You should be able to work well as part of a large and diverse multidisciplinary team. Candidates should have excellent care values and a strong sense of team spirit coupled with a sense of humour. Candidates should have enthusiasm to work, learn and develop yourself and colleagues within the exciting and challenging high pressure environment.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team to provide high quality patient care and develop a positive ward culture in the Acute Medicine Unit.
* Supervise qualified and unqualified staff; promote best practice and patient safety.
* Demonstrate leadership, effective communication and strong organizational skills.
* Engage in education and quality improvement activities as part of personal and team development.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Eligibility to practice as a Nurse within the NHS Scotland system.
* Evidence of personal development and willingness to contribute to education and quality improvement.
* Ability to work well in a large, diverse multidisciplinary team with a strong sense of teamwork and humour.
