Trainee NECTAR Practitioner

The closing date is 30 April 2026

Working with NECTAR is an exciting opportunity for experienced staff nurses and ODP's. NECTAR works across the north east transporting patients to their care destinations. This work is varied and exciting, with many opportunities to advance skill sets in patient stabilisation and management of the acutely deteriorating patient. NECTAR provides services to the adult and paediatric population across the north east; therefore, practitioners are expected to adapt their practice to a wide range of patients from infants to elderly care. NECTAR works alongside IAS transporting people by road or by air, so practitioners need to be adaptable to a variety of environments.

NECTAR practitioners work as part of a multidisciplinary team caring for patients between different hospitals in the North East. They need excellent communication, quick thinking and ability to troubleshoot. They often work independently on practitioner‑led transfers, therefore their ability to assess the situation and respond timely is essential.

Successful applicants will be appointed at a Band 5 and progress to a Band 6 on completion of competencies within 18 months.
