Main duties of the job
As a Salaried GP at Priory Medical Centre, you will:
* Provide high-quality clinical care to patients through face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations.
* Manage a caseload of patients, ensuring safe, evidence-based, and patient-centred care.
* Undertake a share of the practice's clinical and administrative workload, including repeat prescriptions, referrals, and results management.
* Work collaboratively with GP colleagues, nursing staff, allied health professionals, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
* Contribute to the practice's commitment to high performance in QOF, CQC standards, and ICB objectives.
* Support the practice's role as a teaching and training environment, engaging with GP trainees, medical students, and other learners where appropriate.
* Participate in regular clinical meetings and practice development initiatives.
* Provide continuity of care for patients with long-term conditions and support proactive, preventative healthcare approaches.
* Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and commitment to improving patient outcomes within a supportive and forward-thinking practice.
About us
Priory Medical Centre is a well-established Warwick GP Partnership with a list size of approximately 18,500 patients and one branch surgery. We have 6 GP Partners and a full team including Salaried GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants, and administrative support. We are a recognized training practice for GP Registrars.
In June 2021, the practice moved into a new purpose-built surgery designed with patient care in mind. The new building is modern, energy-efficient, and fit for purpose, enabling us to provide better services. The main surgery is located at the new facilities, with a branch at 1 Brese Avenue, Woodloes Park, Warwick, CV34 5TS.

Job responsibilities
Summary of main responsibilities
The post-holder will provide a wide range of health services in a primary care setting, ensuring high standards of care for all patients.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Position in Structure
Reports to the GP Partner (Clinically) and the Executive Director (Administratively).
Specific Duties/Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities:
* Undertake face-to-face, e-consult, video, and telephone consultations, visit patients at home, check and sign repeat prescriptions, and handle queries, paperwork, reports, and correspondence promptly.
* Make professional, autonomous decisions on presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred by other healthcare workers.
* Assess healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems and refer appropriately.
* Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
* Develop care plans in consultation with patients, aligned with practice protocols.
* Provide counseling and health education.
* Record clear, contemporaneous consultation notes.
* Collect data for audits and comply with QOF requirements.
* Deliver enhanced services.
* Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
* Prescribe according to the practice formulary or generically when appropriate.
* Perform all normal duties associated with a GP in primary care.
