Job title: Age Group Lead Coach Location: Bradford City Football Club Academy, BD10 0NR Department: Academy Reports into: Academy Manager - Head of Coaching - Lead Phase Coach Key relationships: Group Support Coach - Sport Science Staff - Medical Staff - Academy Administrator Purpose and objectives: • To deal with all requirements in respect of the allocated age groups, supporting the Lead Phase Coach and Head of Coaching in the development of players in relation to their playing, training, education and welfare. • To assist the Academy Manager in maintaining the required operating standards to meet the football league regulations and EPPP criteria. • To deliver coaching and match day sessions aligned to our philosophy and culture. • To highlight, develop, progress and improve players, providing a pathway for talent to achieve a scholarship at Bradford City Football Club and/or at a higher level. Safeguarding: • The Club is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. • This role involves the supervision of and working with children and young people and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and applicants must disclose all previous convictions including spent convictions. • Training in safeguarding and EDI, including how and who to contact and our reporting procedures and mechanisms, will be provided. • It is a requirement that all successful applicants read, work to and keep abreast of the Club’s policies in these areas. About The Candidate Key duties: • Work to the Academy Coaches’ Code of Conduct for daily standards, coaching, matchday and reviewing of processes. • Coach players to the required standard as defined by the Academy programme. • Ensure players ILP’s are monitored, supported and reviewed effectively. • Ensure the games experience spreadsheet and any other necessary administrative work is recorded effectively. - Academy Manager - Head of Coaching - Lead Phase Coach - Age Group Support Coach - Sport Science Staff - Medical Staff - Academy Administrator • Manage an age group on match days enforcing the Parents and Players Code of Conduct. • Work collaboratively with other age group coaches and medical staff in the Academy, in particular coaches of age groups directly above and below your own. • Adhere to and comply with the staff Code of Conduct and all policies relating to child protection and equal opportunities policies. • Work well with and be responsive to the Club and Academy safeguarding teams. • Undertake an equality impact assessment for any new activity or project that you lead in conjunction with the lead inclusion officer or DLO team). • Assist the Head of Recruitment in delivering the recruitment strategy. • Maintain player safety in your age group until they are collected and your duty ends. Other requirements: • Be an active and effective member of the Academy team. • Prepare and deliver reports as asked to do so. • Maintain a good understanding of the culture and values of Bradford City Football Club. • Work within and adhere to all Academy policies and procedures. • Develop positive working relationships with key internal stakeholders including the Lead Phase Coach, Head of Coaching and Academy Manager. • As requested, undertake all other reasonable duties that support the Academy. Skills and qualifications: • UEFA B License • Working towards completion of modules 1-3 of the Advanced youth award. • Current FA Emergency First Aid in Football Certificate • Current FA safeguarding certificate • Valid Driving license • A satisfactory disclosure from an enhanced DBS. IMPORTANT NOTE Your attendance has an impact on the work that we do. Before you start in post you will be asked to provide any dates that you are not available to work during the season. To maintain consistency in our work, it is a requirement of your engagement with the Academy and in this role that no more than 3 sessions/matches are missed throughout the season.
