Summary:
Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join the Adaptation & Community Equipment (ACE) Team. The successful candidate will support individuals and carers by assessing needs, recommending equipment, and arranging low to medium level adaptations to help people live safely and independently at home. This role involves direct engagement with service users, carers, and professionals to ensure the effective delivery of safe and person-centred care packages.
Responsibilities:
* Assess individuals where referrals highlight moving, handling, hoisting, or transfer needs, providing equipment solutions and risk assessments.
* Conduct evaluations of completed adaptations and equipment provision, escalating complex cases to Occupational Therapists when required.
* Complete assessments for the Disabled Persons Parking Bay scheme, providing evidence-based recommendations.
* Maintain accurate and timely records on WCCIS in line with case recording policies.
* Maintain knowledge of moving and handling practices, equipment, and legislation, participating in training and professional development.
Essentials:
* Willingness to undertake relevant QCF qualifications (NVQ Level 3 Rehabilitation / Level 4 Care or equivalent).
* Completion (or willingness to undertake) Moving and Handling Passport Training.
* Experience of working with people in the community or a care setting.
