The Best Connection are recruiting for an experienced Tractor Driver on behalf of Mansfield District Council. This role sits within the Parks & Open Spaces team and involves maintaining parks, cemeteries, open spaces, and highway verges across the district. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong horticultural and machinery experience.

Key Responsibilities
* Operate large tractors and a wide range of tractor‑mounted equipment
* Grass cutting of large open spaces using gang mowers and associated machinery
* Carry out routine vehicle checks (oil, water, battery, cleanliness, serviceability)
* Collect rubbish and waste from parks and cemeteries
* General labouring duties, including:
o hedge cutting
o shrub and rose bed maintenance
o kerb removal
o fence repairs
* Assist with seasonal duties such as leaf clearance, transporting bark chippings, slitting the ground, and supporting the tree team
* Follow all Health & Safety policies and safe working practices
* Deliver high-quality service and uphold Council standards

Knowledge Requirements
Essential:
* Knowledge of horticultural operations
* Basic Health & Safety awareness
* Knowledge and competent use of tractor‑mounted machinery, including side‑arm flail
* Experience using large tractor‑mounted mowing equipment
Desirable:
* Knowledge of fine turf or sports turf horticulture
Pay: £13.69 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm
Experience
Essential:
* Experience using horticultural or agricultural machinery
* Experience operating small and large tractors
Desirable:
* Experience using 180‑degree and 360‑degree excavators

* NPTC Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Tractor Driving
* Full UK Driving Licence
