We're seeking an exceptional Engineering & Construction Deployment Director to lead the strategic deployment of cutting‑edge engineering and construction programmes across multiple sites in the UK and Ireland.
This is a rare opportunity to join a high‑performing leadership team and drive the transformation of design concepts into fully operational, future‑ready facilities – overseeing the full lifecycle from build to commissioning and customer handover.
What You'll Be Doing
* Inspire and lead large, multi‑disciplinary engineering and construction teams across automation, plant, and facility development
* Translate strategic vision into executable deployment plans aligned with business and customer needs
* Coach teams in developing functional design specifications (FDS) and robust delivery strategies
* Build and align cross‑functional teams, ensuring clarity, accountability, and stakeholder engagement
* Oversee programme planning, governance, and reporting using NPDI systems
* Champion value for money (VFM) through smart procurement and supplier management
* Direct installation and commissioning activities, ensuring quality, compliance, and risk mitigation
* Embed regulatory compliance (CDM, UKCA, PUWER) into all project phases
* Foster strong relationships with trade unions and internal stakeholders across Finance, Commercial, Technology, and HR
* Lead national deployment operations, ensuring consistency and excellence across all sites
What You'll Bring
* A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls & Automation, or Construction Engineering
* Proven experience leading large‑scale construction/refurbishment projects across multiple locations
* A track record of coaching and engaging large, diverse teams—including contract and transient workforces
* Strong strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and matrix leadership skills
* Deep understanding of procurement strategy, VFM principles, and supplier oversight
* Expertise in compliance frameworks (CDM, UKCA, PUWER) and embedding them into project delivery
* Flexibility to travel and work across the UK and Ireland, including regular site presence
