Overview
EHCO Plan Coordinator needed in Barnsley, £250 per day PAYE - Reference: 000A 51DC / 1
An experienced Special Educational Needs case worker required to cover a caseload of around 200.
This is a hybrid post with a requirement to attend the office in Barnsley on Mondays and Thursdays.
Responsibilities
* Overseeing annual reviews, carrying out assessments and writing plans. Knowledge of schools in Barnsley and the surrounding area would be preferable.
* To provide statutory advice and guidance relating to the relevant Code of Practice and related legislation.
* Implement, maintain and review all statutory procedures as set out in Code of Practice and Regulations.
* Work in a collaborative way with parents/carers, children and young people to ensure that their views and wishes are integral to the assessment, planning and review process and that plans are co-produced with them.
* Project manage the statutory processes for issuing and maintaining Plans within a defined caseload.
* Produce performance management information relevant to the service.
* Produce and prepare casework for statutory panels, tribunals and appeals as per legal requirements.
* Prepare high quality and accurate reports and plans which are statutorily compliant.
* Provide a thorough and sensitive service to parents, carers, children and young people to ensure that their experience of the Education, Health and Care Plan process is positive and professional, including when outcomes differ from their expectations.
* Take responsibility for own caseload and escalate complex cases to the appropriate person.
* Engage in own development, updating knowledge and skills relating to national regulations, policies and procedures to satisfy internal/external demands.
* Face-to-face meetings/visits to parents/carers/partners/professionals.
* Promote a high quality service within a culture of continuous improvement, contributing to service development activities and objectives.
* Any other duties commensurate with the grade and within the scope of the post as required.
Requirements
* Full-time role on a temporary contract basis.
* Essential experience as a Special Educational Needs case worker with ability to manage a caseload and work with schools.
* Knowledge of the relevant Code of Practice and related legislation.
* Ability to work hybridly with occasional office attendance in Barnsley (Mondays and Thursdays).
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills with parents, carers, children and professionals.
