The department
Working closely with the Head of Business Change and Projects, and the Business Change Project Managers, you will have the responsibility for supporting the successful planning and delivery of major firm-wide projects and change initiatives.
You will collaborate with colleagues at all levels and in all areas of the firm. This is an exciting new role for a 'can-do' person keen to make an impact from day one
Purpose of job
Understanding Business Objectives:
Seek, develop, and help implement strategic initiatives for improved efficiency and productivity with people and best practice in mind. You will achieve this by working with stakeholders to understand Birketts' goals and objectives at the same time as analysing the business environment, industry trends, and internal processes to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
Gather and understand business requirements by engaging with stakeholders across the firm to identify business needs, challenges, and opportunities. You will validate requirements against the needs of the business by considering business strategy, people requirements and business processes, all of which culminate to drive efficiencies and good working practice.
Cultural Change Management:
Support initiatives aimed at effecting cultural change within the firm. Engage with colleagues to promote new ways of working and thinking to ensure that project outcomes are successfully embedded.
Business Process mapping and analysis:
Document current business processes and 'to be' processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Work closely with various departments to streamline processes and improve service delivery.
Stakeholder Management and Collaboration:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met. Work with legal teams and other Business Services teams to ensure that we maintain an integrated approach throughout the project lifecycle.
Data Analysis and Decision Support
: Working with our Business Intelligence team, utilise data analysis to provide insights that support decision-making processes during the creation of Proposals and Business Cases, and once a project has been implemented to measure its success. Make use of data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities, helping senior stakeholders make informed choices.
End to End Delivery:
Work directly with the business, Business Change Project Manager and where required, the IT BA to support stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Accountabilities
* As a people-focused law firm, the Business Change Business Analyst will ensure that people, processes, and best practices are central to every initiative they lead or support.
* You will work directly with colleagues from a wide range of business areas on the analysis and design of projects including initial documentation, periodic review during implementation and technical governance throughout the project's lifecycle.
* Determine and develop business requirements for projects that look at business process, people and system change aspects to deliver improvements and ensure maximum buy-in .
* Partner with stakeholders across the firm to develop documentation in a collaborative way, communicating effectively and efficiently with operational, managerial, and executive teams as needed.
* Evaluate, analyse, and communicate requirements on a continual basis, and maintain processes, including the delivery of regular status reports to all appropriate parties.
* Author and update internal and external documentation and support the creation of Project Proposals and Business Cases as per our internal Project Board processes.
The candidate
* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) or a Business Analyst at Lv4 qualification with ideally 2+ years of experience.
* High proficiency in process modelling such as UML and BPMN
* Proven ability to manage change projects and coordinating multiple parties at differing levels of the business.
* Experience with data visualisation and analytics.
* Strong working knowledge of relevant tools, including Visio, Lucid Chart, Jira or similar.
* Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
