Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and reliable Support Worker to provide high-quality care and support within the community. This role involves working with a diverse range of individuals, including elderly people, those with physical or learning disabilities, individuals with mental health needs, and families requiring additional support.
As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in promoting independence, dignity, and overall wellbeing, enabling service users and families to live as independently as possible within their own homes and local community.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver person-centred support tailored to individual and family needs and preferences
* Assist with personal care where required, including washing, dressing, and toileting
* Support with daily living tasks such as meal preparation, medication prompts, and light household duties
* Provide practical and emotional support to families, helping to maintain a stable and positive home environment
* Encourage and assist individuals to access the community, attend appointments, and engage in social and developmental activities
* Support individuals with learning disabilities to build life skills, confidence, and independence
* Build positive and respectful relationships with service users and their families
* Follow care plans and risk assessments to ensure safe and effective support
* Observe and report any changes in health, behaviour, or family circumstances
* Maintain accurate records and documentation
* Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality policies at all times
Requirements
* Previous experience in a care, support, or family support role is desirable but not essential
* A caring, patient, and empathetic nature
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independent and as part of a team
* Flexible and reliable with a commitment to delivering high standards of care
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
* Experience supporting elderly individuals, people with learning disabilities, or mental health conditions
* Experience working with families or within a community setting
